The House

Woven from Ancient Earth.
Worn for Today.

A House Built on Craft

Tilet Co. was founded on a single conviction: that Ethiopian craft belongs in the highest tiers of global fashion — not as a trend, but as a permanent presence.

The name Tilet — ትልት — refers to the woven pattern that has defined Dorze textile identity for generations. It is a word that carries craft, memory, and intention. We carry it forward.

Every piece is commissioned to order. There is no inventory, no surplus, no waste — only the work, woven by hand in Chencha and finished in Addis Ababa.

"The Dorze weavers of Chencha have practised their craft for centuries. Our role is not to translate that — it is to honour it, and to carry it into rooms it has not yet entered."

The People

Mikiase Kebede

Founder & Director

Mikiase Kebede

Mikiase founded Tilet Co. with a commitment to building a luxury house that is both rooted in Ethiopian identity and uncompromising in its global ambition. He oversees the financing, legal structure, and operational foundation of the house — creating the conditions for the creative work to exist without constraint.

Hermela Zelalem

Creative Director

Hermela Zelalem

Hermela is the creative force behind every Tilet Co. piece. She designs with a dual intention: to honour the technical mastery of the Dorze weavers and to create garments that carry absolute confidence anywhere in the world. Her work is the reason this house exists.

The Dorze Weavers of Chencha

Our fabrics are hand-loomed by artisan weavers in Chencha, a highland town in Southern Ethiopia. The Dorze people have practised this craft for centuries — their hand-loomed cotton is among the finest produced on the African continent.

We work directly with the cooperative — no intermediaries — and ensure fair and transparent compensation for every metre of fabric that bears the Tilet name.
